            Christian was named All-State and Tallassees Most Valuable Player… One of finest sprinters in Alabama, was state champion in 180 low hurdles, 120 high hurdles, 100 yard dash, holding state records in both hurdles… Captained football team and averaged 39 yards per punt, netted 886 yards for a 6.2 rushing average.

In 1969 the two point conversion was adopted for play following a touchdown. Until that time all conversions were worth one point.
