The History of High School Sports in Alabama

   Welcome to the Alabama High School Football Historical Society. We have expanded our research to include all team sports in Alabama. Initially our goal is to preserve the history of every team sport played within the state. We also provide other important information including coaching records, tournament results, state championship summaries and much more. If you can provide accurate scores or any other information related to our efforts we encourage you to contact us.

  The pages of Alabama High School Sports are dotted with great athletes such as Henry Aaron, Bo Jackson, Kenny Stabler, Robert Horry, Charles Barkley, Hubert Green and Harvey Glance.

These along with many other athletes have participated in high school athletics over the past 100 years in Alabama.

Without the dedication of their coaches along the way these athletes would have never achieved the recognition they deserved in their respective sports.


  


Great Moments in Alabama High School Sports History

The only forfeit in tournament play was in 1999 when Courtland forfeited their win over Madison Academy in the Class 1A finals.
