Anniston Bulldogs
Berry Halladay
Berry Halladay took over the football program at Minor High School in Birmingham in 1971. He stayed at the school for the next 17 years, leading the Tigers to playoff appearances the last four seasons.
In 1988 he moved over to Anniston for four seasons and a 34-13 record. Halladays 1989 team at Anniston put together a special season. The Bulldogs topped off a perfect 15-0 season with a 12-6 victory over Murphy in the State Championship game at Legion Field in Birmingham.
Halladay was named the head football coach at Escambia High School in Florida in 1992. His 1993 and 1994 Gators reached the Florida state playoffs.
His overall coaching record in Alabama is 136-90-1 in 21 seasons at the helm with Minor and Anniston. His last eight teams qualified for the playoffs.
He coached in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. Coach Halladay was named as the Coach of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association in 1988 and 1989.
