Cleburne County Tigers
Dennis Magouirk
Dennis Magouirk graduated from Saks High School. He received his degree from Jacksonville State.
Magouirk spent 17 seasons as the head football coach of the Cleburne County High School Tigers. Magouirk became the head football coach in Heflin, Alabama in 1981. It was the only head coaching job he ever had in Alabama.
His 1994 squad was possibly the best team in school history. That team went 14-0 before losing to T.R. Miller in the State Championship game 27-6. It was the most wins in the history of football at Cleburne County.
Coach Magouirks overall football record is 102-84 in 17 seasons at the helm of the Tigers. His playoff record is 11-6 and his teams won two region championships. He retired from coaching following the 1997 seasons and from teaching in the Cleburne County school system in 2011.
