Jack Akins
Jack Akins graduated from Escambia County High School in Atmore, Alabama and the University of Southern Miss.
He became the head football coach at J.U. Blacksher High School in north Baldwin County in 1957. His three teams finished with a 19-7-3 record. In 1962 he moved to W.S. Neal High School in East Brewton as the head football coach.
Akins Blue Eagle teams went 31-16-2 in five seasons with him at the helm. Following many years of service in the public school system, he landed at Escambia Academy in the AISA for the 1977 season for a three year stint as head football coach. Akins returned to Escambia Academy in 1990 for another run as a head football coach for four years.
He later was the head football coach at South Montgomery Academy (1995), Sparta Academy (1998-99) and Greenville Academy (2002) before retiring as a head football coach. His overall football record is 118-87-7 in 21 years as a head coach in Alabama.

Parrish scored a record 77 points in a playoff game against Cedar Bluff in 2001. The Tornados were shutout the following week 19-0 by Courtland.
