This site lists E.D.Redding as the coach at Brooks High for the 1968 season. Coach Redding didn't come to Brooks until the 1969 season. I was a student there 1968-1973. In 1968 we only went through the 11th grade, thus most of our games were against 'B' teams from other schools. In 1968, Alton Ledlow coached all sports at Brooks. 1969-70 was our first year to have seniors and play a full varsity schedule in any sport and coaches were hired for each sport. I remember all of this from my time at Brooks but I also have a screenshot of the Florence Times-Daily from May 20, 1969 in which they report on the hiring of Coach Redding (they misspelled it as "Reding"). I can't figure out how to attach it here but will be glad to if someone can tell me how.
