Due to a lack of players Jacksonville Christian will not field a football team this season. The school finished spring training with 9 players and were only able to add 3 over the summer and several of those were 7th graders. Coach and principal Tommy Miller made the announcement yesterday. He hopes to build some numbers and resume the program with the 2018 season.

This is another reason that the AHSAA should allow crossover games with the private school leagues. JCA could play an 8 man schedule and at least give the kids who want to play a chance to do that.
