I found this article about old Hazlewood High, and the ramifications of it closing and the effects it had on the community since. I thought it interesting in the article it said after they won the 1A state title in 1981, theu asked to be moved up to 2A to face tougher competition. How humorous to read that. and this day and time seeing these teams crying over the competitive balance rule. Hazlewood didn't want to just dominate, they wanted to earn it. Teams like St.Pauls and the like should take note.
