According to this the coach in 1950 was Burt Hudson, and after reading the article on Mr.Gable it sounds like a mistake by the Cullman Times (notorious for things like this) saying Pierce was the Walter principal and also Holly Pond coach at that time when it makes a lot more sense that he was probably the Walter coach along with being the principal. But of course I could be wrong.
