Scott Peavey joins Oxford's football staff
By Al Muskewitz East Alabama Sports Today
OXFORD -- Ryan Herring has added another head coach to his Oxford football staff when Madison County coach Scott Peavey was approved by the board at a specially called meeting Wednesday, East Alabama Sports Today has confirmed.
It's a homecoming of sorts for Peavey, who is a former head coach at Wellborn.
He is the second head coach Herring has added to his staff this year. The night of the Yellow Jackets football banquet it was announced former Glencoe head coach Lee Ozmint was joining the staff.
Ozmint is a defensive assistant for Herring. Peavey's position assignment has not yet been determined.
Peavey was 68-55 as a head coach. He was 46-34 in seven seasons at Madison County, 6-5 in one year at Ashville and 16-16 in three years at Wellborn.
He reached the state semifinals twice at Madison County (2012 and 2014).
Earlier this spring Peavey was named to the North staff of the North-South all-star game, headed by Alexandria's Frank Tucker.ott Peavy as left Madison County for an assistant job at Oxford

I guess my source on Scott Peavey leaving Madison County was not reliable enough.

Rob Hollingshead is the new head coach at South Montgomery County Academy replacing Tim Davenport. Once again from a reliable source.
Note: If I do not give a source it usually means I was not able to find a newspaper or internet article for the coaching change. Most times I get an email from the principal at the school or some other coach at the school. In that case I do not give the source to respect their privacy.
I will not post it here unless I am certain of the change.
Remember that not everything that happens can be found on the internet. There are some areas of the state that are simply not readily available on the web. Al.com does not cover the entire state and leave huge gaps in their coverage.
I then rely on sportswriters at the smaller newspapers and school personnel to fill in the blanks. Trust me, I get a ton of emails from everywhere.

David, when you post a change, I don't doubt at all your sources are accurate. I know you receive lots more emails and information than appears on here. It is good for others to know the reasons you might not, though. We've previously discussed the information I usually refer to, namely so the sports other than football have sources to back up a coaching change. Football is high profile, and most, if not all changes will get articles about them posted somewhere. for other sports, that's not always the case. If someone's post, without sources, are just taken at face value, it could end up causing the lists to be incorrect. Who knows where the information comes from without a cited source.
Mike, I wasn't trying to take away from your post. I usually look for the school a coach leaves in the headline, and had in my mind Madison County. It didn't register to me the place he was going, or even his name. That was early morning. As long as a source is cited, I'm good with it. It's posts that say something like 'John Smith resigns at Brookwood', and that's all it says, that I remind that a source be cited.
