 2018 Preview

North River Christian finished the 2017 season with a disappointing 0-9 record.

The Chargers have not qualified for the playoffs since the 2011 season and would love to end that streak this year.

The Chargers would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 0-18 record. Since 2010, the North River Christian football program has struggled with a record of 20-53.

Over the past 20 seasons, North River Christian has managed to compile a record of 71-106. Their 40.0% winning percentage ranks 12th in Class A and 29th in the AISA.

The North River Christian Chargers will play in Class A region two during the 2018 season.

Overall, the region is among the weakest in the state. Qualifying for one of the playoffs spots could be a little easier.

The Chargers enter the 2018 season in the middle of a 18 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season. This season, the Chargers will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region two. After not winning a single game last year, the goal at North River Christian will be to simply win some games.

The Chargers open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Plainview on Friday, August 31 at Charger Park. Last year the Plainview Bears finished with an overall record of 9-2 and in first place in Class 3A region seven. The Bears lost in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs to Weaver by a score of 30-29.

This will be the first meeting between North River Christian and Plainview on the football field.
