2018 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
R.C. Hatch completed the 2017 season with a 4-7 record. With their 2-4 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 2A region four, the Bobcats earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. R.C. Hatch's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Ariton by a score of 44-14. The 352 points scored by the Bobcats last year were a team record in a single season. The Bobcats have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2018. Since 2010, R.C. Hatch has gone a combined 29-54. Their 35.0% winning percentage ranks 43rd in Class 2A over the past eight seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, R.C. Hatch has not won much with a record of 39-184. Their 18.0% winning percentage ranks 58th in Class 2A and 377th in the AHSAA. The Bobcats have struggled on the football field with only two winning seasons during this time. The Bobcats are led by head coach Jammie Abraham who is entering his seventeenth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 38-119 over the past sixteen seasons at R.C. Hatch. Under his direction the Bobcats have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Abraham. Coach Abraham's overall record as a head football coach in sixteen season stands at 38-119 (24.2%). The R.C. Hatch Bobcats will play in Class 2A region one during the 2018 season. Following realignment, the Bobcats remain in 2A but move from region four over to region one. With a little luck and some improvement, the Bobcats could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region one this season. The Bobcats open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Francis Marion on Friday, August 31 at Bobcat Stadium. Last year the Francis Marion Rams finished with an overall record of 4-6 and in fifth place in Class 2A region four. The Rams ended last season on a positive note with a win over Hale County by a score of 64-56 after failing to gain a playoff spot. R.C. Hatch and Francis Marion have met a total of 44 times on the football field. The Bobcats have a 12-32-0 record against the Rams. They last met in 2017 with R.C. Hatch winning by a score of 22-12. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
