Thomasville completed the 2017 season with a 7-4 record. With their 4-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 4A region one, the Tigers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. The Tigers open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Sweet Water on Friday, August 31 at Anderson Field. Last year the Sweet Water Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 13-1 and in first place in Class 1A region one. The Bulldogs won the Class 1A State Championship last season when they defeated Pickens County by a score of 20-6 in the Super Seven finals in Auburn. Thomasville and Sweet Water have met a total of 79 times on the football field. The Tigers have a 64-14-1 record against the Bulldogs. They last met in 2017 with Thomasville winning by a score of 36-15. Thomasville returns 4A All-State receiver Braylon Washington.
