 2018 Preview 


       Cornerstone Christian completed the 2017 season with a 6-5 record. With their 3-2 region record and a third place finish in Class AA region one, the Chargers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Cornerstone Christian's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Escambia Academy by a score of 55-0.

       Since 2010, Cornerstone Christian has gone a combined 37-48. Their 44.0% winning percentage ranks 8th in Class A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 18 seasons, Cornerstone Christian has managed to compile a record of 93-96. Their 49.0% winning percentage ranks 8th in Class A and 25th in the AISA.




       The Chargers are led by head coach James Lee who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 6-5 record in his first season at Cornerstone Christian. Under his direction the Chargers have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Lee.

       Coach Lee's overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 10-19 -2 (34.5%). Over the course of his career, Coach Lee's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of one time .

       The Cornerstone Christian Chargers will play in Class A region two during the 2018 season. The Chargers may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class AA to A. They will compete in region two this year.

       The Chargers should be in contention for a playoff spot in region two this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.

       The Chargers open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Springwood on Friday, August 24 at Springwood Stadium. Last year the Springwood Wildcats finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in fifth place in Class AAA region one. The Wildcats closed out the regular season with a loss to Chambers Academy by a score of 44-35.

       Cornerstone Christian and Springwood have met a total of 11 times on the football field. The Chargers have a 4-7-0 record against the Wildcats. They last met in 2015 with Springwood winning by a score of 40-14.

In 1925 Langdale tied a record by defeating Milltown 125-0. Hamilton had set the record by thrashing Fayette 125-0 in 1915.
