 2018 Preview 


       Glenwood School completed the 2017 season with a 7-5 record. With their 3-2 region record and a third place finish in Class AAA region one, the Gators earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Glenwood School's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Morgan Academy by a score of 21-14.

       The Gators had some tough luck last season as four of their five losses were by less than eight points.

       Since 2010, Glenwood School has gone a combined 47-45. Their 51.0% winning percentage ranks 6th in Class AAA over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Glenwood School has managed to compile a record of 141-123. Their 53.0% winning percentage ranks 7th in Class AAA and 17th in the AISA.




       The Gators are led by head coach Jason Gibson who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 15-9 over the past two seasons at Glenwood School. Under his direction the Gators have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Gibson.

       Coach Gibson's overall record as a head football coach in two season stands at 15-9 (62.5%).

       The Glenwood School Gators will play in Class AAA region one during the 2018 season. Glenwood School will face six opponents that reached the playoffs last season.

       The Gators will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region one this season.

       The Gators open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Lakeside on Friday, August 24 at Reeves Field. Last year the Lakeside Chiefs finished with an overall record of 7-4 and in second place in Class AA region one. The Chiefs lost in the semi-finals round of the Class AA playoffs to Autauga Academy by a score of 63-28.

       Glenwood School and Lakeside have met a total of 16 times on the football field. The Gators have a 15-1-0 record against the Chiefs. They last met in 2015 with Glenwood School winning by a score of 28-17.

       Glenwood School returns AISA All-State  offensive lineman Nathaniel Trzpuc. He was named to the second team last season.
