Last year Russell County finished sixth in Class 6A region two with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Warriors last playoff victory came during the 1998 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. Russell County was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Warriors want to be competitive. They only averaged 14.0 points a game. The Warriors would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 4-16 record. Since 2010, the Russell County football program has struggled with a record of 17-63. Over the past 25 seasons, Russell County has not won much with a record of 57-181.
