Aliceville completed the 2021 season with a 8-4 record. With their 4-2 region record and a second place finish in Class 2A region five, the Yellow Jackets earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Aliceville reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Spring Garden by a score of 40-35. Since 2010, Aliceville has gone a combined 95-48. Their 66.4% winning percentage ranks 8th in Class 2A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Aliceville has gone a combined 215-89. Their 71.0% winning percentage ranks 2nd in Class 2A and 32nd in the AHSAA. The Yellow Jackets have been successful on the football field with twenty-one winning seasons during this time. The Yellow Jackets are led by head coach Grady Griffin who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 8-4 record in his first season at Aliceville. The Yellow Jackets have successfully qualified for the playoffs every year since 1995 and expect to be included again when November rolls around. The Yellow Jackets open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Pickens County on Friday, August 19 at Memorial Stadium. Last year the Pickens County Tornados finished with an overall record of 11-3 and in first place in Class 1A region six. The Tornados lost in the semi-finals round of the Class 1A playoffs to Wadley by a score of 41-36. Aliceville and Pickens County have met a total of 84 times on the football field. The Yellow Jackets have a 42-41-1 record against the Tornados. They last met in 2021 with Aliceville winning by a score of 39-32. Aliceville returns 2A All-State Senior quarterback TyJarian Williams.
