 2022 Preview 


       Hubbertville completed the 2021 season with a 8-3 record. With their 5-2 region record and a second place finish in Class 1A region six, the Lions earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Hubbertville reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Wadley by a score of 28-14.

       Since 2010, Hubbertville has gone a combined 96-44. Their 68.6% winning percentage ranks 8th in Class 1A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Hubbertville has managed to compile a record of 145-129. Their 53.0% winning percentage ranks 21st in Class 1A and 159th in the AHSAA.




       The Lions are led by head coach Caleb Hynds who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 8-3 record in his first season at Hubbertville. Under his direction the Lions have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Hynds.

       Coach Hynds' overall record as a head football coach in five season stands at 30-25 (54.5%). Over the course of his career, Coach Hynds' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times and won one region championship.

       The Hubbertville Lions will play in Class 1A region five during the 2022 season. Following realignment, the Lions remain in 1A but move from region six over to region five.

       The Lions enter the 2022 season riding a 6 game regular season winning streak.

       The Lions will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region five this season. They have qualified for the playoffs every year since 2009 and are hopeful to continue that streak in 2022.

       The Lions open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent University Charter School on Friday, August 19 at Tiger Stadium.
