Greene County completed the 2022 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Greene County finished seventh in Class 2A region five with a 0-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Tigers last playoff victory came during the 2000 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. Since 2010, Greene County has gone a combined 42-88. Their 32.3% winning percentage ranks 52nd in Class 2A over the past thirteen seasons. Over the past 23 seasons, Greene County has managed to compile a record of 88-145. Their 38.0% winning percentage ranks 45th in Class 2A and 308th in the AHSAA. The Tigers will be under the direction of new head football coach Cory Cockrell as they enter the 2023 season. This season, the Tigers will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region five. The Tigers open the 2023 season on the road against non-region opponent Greensboro on Friday, August 25 at Robert Lucky Stadium. Last year the Greensboro Raiders finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in sixth place in Class 3A region three. Greene County and Greensboro have met a total of 12 times on the football field.
