Long Rebels will play in Class 2A region two during the 2024 season. The Rebels have qualified for the playoffs in each of the past five seasons and would like to build on that streak this year. They still have Cottonwood in the region so that will be an important game on October 25th and may just be for the region championship. The Rebels are considered one of the favorites for the region two championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs. Season Opener: The Rebels open the 2024 season at home against non-region opponent Houston Academy on Friday, August 23 at Rebel Stadium. Last year the Houston Academy Raiders finished with an overall record of 10-2 and in second place in Class 3A region two. The Raiders lost in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs to Mobile Christian by a score of 35-10. G.W. Long and Houston Academy have met a total of 46 times on the football field.
