Over the past 25 seasons, Coosa Valley Academy has not won much with a record of 79-176. Their 31.0% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class A and 26th in the AISA. Head Coach: The Rebels are led by head coach Vince DiLorenzo who is entering his sixth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 26-30 over the past five seasons at Coosa Valley Academy. Under his direction the Rebels have qualified for the playoffs a total of three times. They have won one region crown with Coach DiLorenzo. Coach DiLorenzo led Gadsden to a state championship in 2010. His 183 wins rank 3rd among active coaches in the AISA. The win total includes 177 wins in Alabama and 6 victories from outside the state. Over the course of his career, Coach DiLorenzo's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of eighteen times and won seven region championships. Coach DiLorenzo won two state championships prior to arriving at Coosa Valley Academy, the last coming in 1991 at Gadsden. Season Outlook: The Coosa Valley Academy Rebels will play in Class A region one during the 2024 season. The Rebels will need to win a few more games this fall if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region one this season. After just 2 wins last year, Coosa Valley Academy will be hoping to become more competitive in the region. Season Opener: The Rebels open the 2024 season at home against region opponent Southern Prep Academy on Friday, August 30 at Don Greene/Rebels Stadium. Last year the Southern Prep Academy Fighting Rangers finished with an overall record of 7-6 and in fourth place in Class AISA-8 Man region one. The Fighting Rangers lost in the semi-finals round of the Class AISA-8 Man playoffs to Springwood by a score of 61-14. Coosa Valley Academy and Southern Prep Academy have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Rebels have a 2-2-0 record against the Fighting Rangers.
