 2024 Preview 


       LeFlore finished the 2023 season with a disappointing 1-9 record. Last year LeFlore finished ninth in Class 5A region one with a 0-8 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The offense struggled putting points on the score board as LeFlore averaged scoring just 8.7 points a game.

       The Rattlers would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 1-19 record. Since 2010, LeFlore has gone a combined 34-110. Their 23.6% winning percentage ranks 57th in Class 5A over the past fourteen seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, LeFlore has not won much with a record of 84-178. Their 32.0% winning percentage ranks 51st in Class 5A and 333rd in the AHSAA. Their last winning season was 2010.

Head Coach:
       The Rattlers are led by head coach Renardo Jackson who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 1-19 over the past two seasons at LeFlore. The Rattlers have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Jackson.

Season Outlook:

       The LeFlore Rattlers will play in Class 5A region one during the 2024 season.

      

       The Rattlers enter the 2024 season in the middle of a 9 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season.

       The Rattlers have won exactly three games the past five seasons. They play in a rather difficult region and their non-region games are against Foley, Jackson and Fairfield on the road.

       LeFlore will be working hard to improve on the past decade or more. They have not reached the playoffs since the 2013 football season.

       Coach Jackson is optimistic about the team's prospects this season. ''Entering year three my staff and I are excited to go out and compete with our first group of upperclassmen. We expected to make our biggest leap from year 2 to year 3. We have several key returners defensively and look to be much more explosive offensively.''

    This season, the Rattlers will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region one.

Season Opener:
       The Rattlers open the 2024 season on the road against non-region opponent Fairfield on Friday, August 23 at Clements Field. Last year the Fairfield Tigers finished with an overall record of 4-7 and in fourth place in Class 5A region five. The Tigers lost in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to Russellville by a score of 38-21.

       This will be the second meeting between LeFlore and Fairfield on the football field. The Rattlers have a 0-1-0 record against the Tigers. They last met in with
