With their 2-3 region record and a third place finish in Class AISA-8 Man region one, the Chargers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2023. North River Christian's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Evangel Christian Alabaster by a score of 68-26. The Chargers won as many games as in any season since 2015. Since 2010, the North River Christian football program has struggled with a record of 35-87. Over the past 23 seasons, North River Christian has managed to compile a record of 78-125. Their 38.0% winning percentage ranks 3rd in Class A and 22nd in the AISA. Head Coach: The Chargers are led by head coach John Teasley who is entering his seventh season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 31-32 over the past six seasons at North River Christian. Under his direction the Chargers have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Teasley. Season Outlook: The North River Christian Chargers will play in Class A region one during the 2024 season. The Chargers may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class AISA-8 Man to A. They will compete in region one this year. The Chargers could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region one this season with a few breaks and a little improvement. Season Opener: The Chargers open the 2024 season at home against non-region opponent East Central HomeSchool on Friday, August 23 at Charger Park. Last year the East Central HomeSchool Patriots finished with an overall record of 4-5 and in place in Class 8 Man region seven. The Patriots lost in the first round of the Class 8 Man playoffs to Evangel Christian Alabaster by a score of 46-7. North River Christian and East Central HomeSchool have met a total of 5 times on the football field. The Chargers have a 2-3-0 record against the Patriots.
