Hometown should be Bessemer instead of Aliceville.

Agree . Should be the Abrams Blue Devils after 1962. Great teams under Bonds Henderson

Are you saying that Dunbar and Abrams are the same school? That would make sense.

Yes. Abrams succeeded Dunbar about 1960. Dunbar was oringinally Bessemer Colored HS , founded 1913. For a time HArd HS. Afire prompted the new construction.

I remember Coach Bonds Henderson before the Abrqams- Brighton game in 1962. I had bet all the kids at St. Frncis Mission that Abrams woould beat Brighton. He timed me in my tweed coat in the 100 yard dash in a blazing 18 seconds. . Abrams lost that nite 21-0. As I cried afterewards he went to his trunk outside of Bessemer stadium and gave me my first practice football and told me "winning isn't everything". I know now he is quite right.....
