Coosa Christian boys basketball coach Jammie Lett has resigned following his second season as coach. The Conquerors season ended Tuesday night in the semifinals of the Class 1A, Area 11 tournament against No. 3 Spring Garden after beating Donoho 65-51 in the opening round. The Boaz City Board of Education during a called meeting on Tuesday approved the hiring of Cale Black as varsity boys? basketball coach and physical education teacher, effective at the start of the 2019-20 school year. Black has served as varsity assistant at Plainview the past two years after several years as Geraldine head coach. He will replace Jay Burney, who announced his retirement earlier in the year.

Lexington David Hill, who has coached Lexington?s girls the past four years, will replace Herrera as the Lexington boys basketball coach. A replacement for Hill as the girls basketball coach has not yet been hired but the job has been posted.
