Jack French
Jack French spent the first twenty-five years of his head coaching career in Mississippi where he compiled a record of 196-85 and a playoff record of 19-10. His 1992 and 1993 teams at Forest won state championships with back-to-back 13-1 records.
In 2001 he came east to Alabama and accepted the head coaching job at Baldwin County where his four teams finished a combined 32-14 and 3-3 in the playoffs. He returned to Mississippi for another three seasons before landing at Clarke County for one season in 2010.
The next year he took over the football program at Baker and in four seasons his teams finished 27-15 with a couple of playoff spots.
Coach French accepted the head coaching position at Faith Academy in 2018 and quickly turned around the fortunes of the football program. His six teams went 55-20 and qualified for the playoffs at the end of each season. His 2020 and 2022 squads reached the semifinals. Three of his teams won at least ten games.
French retired following the 2023 football season with a record of 314-140-2 in 40 years as a head football coach in both states. His playoff record was 32-21.
