A Reeltown safety to open the 4th quarter pulls Reeltown to within 4. They trail B.B. Comer 20-16.

Montgomery Catholic leads Handley 19-14 with 4 minutes left. Handley is starting this drive at their own 30.

Arab and Pleasant Grove going to overtime. PG misses a field goal as time expires.

EDIT: Both teams score touchdowns. 35-35 going to second OT. We could be here a while.

EDIT 2: Arab settles for FG on its possession. Pleasant Grove scores a touchdown. Spartans win 41-38

It?s unbelievable of the calls that Pisgah had to go their way. The 4th down flag that they threw late in the game for the illegal pass across the line was wrong. The player has to be completely across the line when the ball is let go. If just his foot is on the back side of the LOS, it is not an illegal pass. I guess it helps when the side judge on Pisgahs side has a coach in his ear during every play.

Regardless, Fyffe was going to beat the brakes off of the winner of this game anyways.

I am an impartial party. I watched close to half of this game. There were bad calls on both sides. It was a great game. My biggest takeaways were this.

Pisgah: I was really impressed with their O line and D line. They dominated the line of scrimmage for the most part.

Aliceville: Kept coming back with ferocity. I kind of expected it with how they play against Winston County. Also, their QB is a man amongst boys.

Both teams should be really proud. Both played hard and made it further than most teams.

I watched a lot of the first half of the Mountain Brook and Hartselle game. I'm not surprised MB won but am surprised with how they dominated the game, particularly on offense. Definitely didn't expect to see Hartselle's defense to get shredded like that.

Aliceville is a very good team. The QB is absolutely a grown man. They made some good halftime adjustments. They loaded the box and blitzed like crazy. Sometimes they were bringing 8 guys and we never hit that big pass play to force them out of it. Credit to them on that.

Thank you for the complement about the OL/DL. My son is the center and he plays DE and LB. So he was among that group getting push up front.

I think the key to the game was Pisgah running right at them and off tackle. Teams always take bad angles against us. Our little running back always gets underestimated. He is fast. He is not just a little bit fast he is legit fast. He went to a skills camp at Auburn this year and he was the fastest kid there.

NFHS rules state the illegal forward pass is one or both feet beyond the neutral zone. NCAA rules are for the entire body. I obviously wasn't there, but the ref is really looking at a much more minute detail with NFHS rules, so it's hard to have your QB even toeing that line even if it was "on the back side" as you say.

Bottom line: it's football. The team I coach for had a lot of questionable calls go against us this year, but there's no changing it. I still would never want to be an official.
