Outlook: The Tigers finished last season with an impressive 12-1 record but Coach Hudson knows the season ended entirely too soon with a loss to Lanett in the quarterfinals. The 2026 version of Luverne will look very much like the one we saw last year as most of the starters return for another shot at a long playoff run.
Luverne almost coasted through the regular season and the first two rounds of the playoffs in 2025. The only team who played them close was 3A Montgomery Academy. This year they more to Region One and should have little problem once again capturing that region championship. Can the Tigers go all the way in 2026? Some think they can.

Outlook: The Purple Cats have shown some improvement in each of the past three seasons. Can they continue that success in 2026? It's a crowded region when playoff spots are discussed. Six teams from this year's lineup of Region Two teams made the playoffs last year. Only four will still be playing in November this year.
This should be one of the most competitive region races in the state as it usually is each year.

Outlook: What a great job Coach Byrd has done at Southeastern! These Mustangs are for real and appear to be on the verge of something special the next few seasons. Seven consecutive playoff appearances are great but they have won seven playoff games the past five seasons and that is something to be proud of for a football program still only fourteen years old.
A few new faces in this region could make it interesting but make no mistake about it the Mustangs should be in the think of a region championship race all season. A week three game against Gordo could very well determine the region championship eary in the season.

Outlook: Back-to-back 13-1 seasons would be great at most schools and while it is an amazing run the Bulldogs of Piedmont are not satisfied with winning games. They expect to win state championships every year.
Rollie Pinto may have taken his talents to the next level but these Bulldogs will be back with a vengeance in 2026 and should compete for a region championship and hopefully a trip to Mobile in December.
Cole Austin completed 117 of 184 passes for 1,956 yards and 26 TDs and will return for his Junior season.

Outlook: Look at the Raiders from Pleasant Valley. The actually got the monkey off their back in 2025 by winning the first playoff game in school history. They also won ten games for the first time. We will be looking for something similar this fall when the Raiders take the field in August.

Vincent Yellow Jackets (9-3)
|
|
Outlook: Back-to-back nine win seasons for the Yellow Jackets was the best two season span in school history. Can they continue that success in 2026. Well, there are a couple of other teams in this region that will have something to say about it but look for the Jackets to be in the hunt for a fifth consecutive playoff appearance this season.
