Paul Bryant completed the 2016 season with a 4-7 record. With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 6A region four, the Stampede earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. Paul Bryant's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Opelika by a score of 48-12. It marked the first time since the 2011 season that the Stampede qualified for the playoffs. The Stampede have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2017. Since 2010, Paul Bryant has gone a combined 25-48. Their 34.0% winning percentage ranks 48th in Class 6A over the past seven seasons. Over the past 14 seasons, Paul Bryant has not won much with a record of 40-103. Their 28.0% winning percentage ranks 54th in Class 6A and 357th in the AHSAA. The Stampede have struggled on the football field with only three winning seasons during this time. The Stampede are led by head coach Eldrick Hill who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 11-20 over the past three seasons at Paul Bryant. Under his direction the Stampede have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Hill. Coach Hill's overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 11-20 (35.5%). The Paul Bryant Stampede will play in Class 6A region four during the 2017 season. With a little luck and some improvement, the Stampede could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region four this season.
