 2022 Preview 


       Midfield completed the 2021 season with a 9-3 record. Last year Midfield captured the region five title and a number one seed in the Class 2A playoffs. They finished region play with a 5-1 record. It was the first region championship for the Patriots since the 2011 season. Midfield reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Cleveland by a score of 61-46.

       The Patriots hope to continue the success they had last season. Coach Isaac saw improvement as they won nine games following a 0-9 record in 2020.

       Since 2010, Midfield has gone a combined 65-61. Their 51.6% winning percentage ranks 31st in Class 3A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Midfield has managed to compile a record of 165-114. Their 59.0% winning percentage ranks 17th in Class 3A and 102nd in the AHSAA.




       The Patriots are led by head coach Rod Isaac who is entering his twelveth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 63-53 over the past eleven seasons at Midfield. Under his direction the Patriots have qualified for the playoffs a total of nine times. They have won two region crowns with Coach Isaac.

       Coach Isaac's overall record as a head football coach in eleven season stands at 63-53 (54.3%).

       Coach Isaac got things back on track at Midfield after a disastrous 0-9 season in 2020. They are in hopes of continuing that success this season.

       The Midfield Patriots will play in Class 3A region five during the 2022 season. The Patriots move up in classification to Class 3A. They may find the going slightly tougher with the move.

       Region five will be one of the most competitive regions in any classification this season.

       The Patriots enter the 2022 season riding a 5 game regular season winning streak. The Patriots will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region five this season.

       The Patriots open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Carver Birmingham on Friday, August 19 at Carver High School Stadium. Last year the Carver Birmingham Rams finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in sixth place in Class 5A region five. The Rams closed out the regular season with a loss to Bullock County by a score of 1-0.

       Midfield and Carver Birmingham have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Patriots have a 3-1-0 record against the Rams. They last met in 1995 with Midfield winning by a score of 18-13.
