They finished region play with a 5-0 record. Demopolis reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Faith Academy by a score of 36-15.

Over the past 25 seasons, Demopolis has finished a combined 230-75. Their 75.0% winning percentage ranks 3rd in Class 5A and 16th in the AHSAA. The Tigers have been successful on the football field with twenty-five winning seasons during this time. Their last losing season was 1994.

The Tigers will be under the direction of new head football coach Lance Tucker as they enter the 2023 season.  Coach Tucker comes to Demopolis from Bartlett High School in Tennessee where he built a 32-15 record over four seasons as the head coach. He spent eight years as the head coach at Fayette County totaling 76 wins and three state championship appearances. The win total includes 76 wins in Alabama and 33 victories from outside the state. Over the course of his career, Coach Tucker's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of eight times and won five region championships.

Coach Tucker returns to Alabama after a visit to Tennessee the past few years. He will inherit a very talented bunch of players in Demopolis who are accustomed to winning.

The Tigers enter the 2023 season riding a 8 game regular season winning streak. They have won 7 straight games on their home turf at Tiger Stadium.

The Tigers are considered one of the favorites for the region three championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs. The Tigers have successfully qualified for the playoffs every year since 1995 and expect to be included again when November rolls around.

QB Kevin McElroy will be returning after completing 132 of 228 passes for 1,875 yards last season along with 18 touchdowns.

Junior Keishawn Rowser will be back this season at running back after rushing for 617 yards and 16 TDs in 2022.

Receiver Dalyn Jackson will return after grabbing 34 passes good for 763 yards and 10 TDs as a junior last season.

The Tigers open the 2023 season on the road against non-region opponent American Christian on Friday, August 25 at Freedom Field. Last year the American Christian Patriots finished with an overall record of 9-3 and in first place in Class 4A region three.
