2024 Preview | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Meadowview Christian finished the 2023 season with a disappointing 1-8 record. The Trojans won as many games as in any season since 2017. The defense allowed a team record 621 points last season. The Trojans would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 1-20 record. Since 2010, the Meadowview Christian football program has struggled with a record of 19-115. Over the past 25 seasons, Meadowview Christian has not won much with a record of 58-191. Their 23.0% winning percentage ranks 7th in Class A and 29th in the AISA. Head Coach: The Trojans are led by head coach John Treherne who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 1-8 record in his first season at Meadowview Christian. The Trojans saw improvement from a 0-12 record the season before coach Treherne arrived. The Trojans have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Treherne. Season Outlook: The Meadowview Christian Trojans will play in Class A region one during the 2024 season. The Trojans may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class AISA-8 Man to A. They will compete in region one this year. The Trojans will need to win a few more games this fall if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region one this season. After just a single win last year, Meadowview Christian will be hopeful of winning a few more games this season. Season Opener: The Trojans open the 2024 season on the road against region opponent Evangel Christian Academy on Thursday, August 29. Last year the Evangel Christian Academy Lions finished with an overall record of 3-8 and in fifth place in Class AISA-8 Man region one. The Lions lost in the semi-finals round of the Class AISA-8 Man playoffs to Cornerstone Christian by a score of 44-20. Meadowview Christian and Evangel Christian Academy have met a total of 8 times on the football field. The Trojans have a 3-5-0 record against the Lions. They last met in 2023 with Evangel Christian Academy winning by a score of 58-20. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
