2012 Season Scoring Averages

Week 4 Week 5 Week 6 Week 7 Week 8 Week 9 Week 10

Week 8     (10/20/2012)   (Updated 10/22)

There are 32 teams averaging over 40 points a game. Brantley leads the pack by averaging 52.5 points per game followed closely by Marion County at 51.6. Edgewood Academy leads the AISA with an average of 51.9. Cedar Bluff is the only other team to average over fifty points a game thus far through the 2012 season. Once again Southeastern has the least effective offense and averages only 1.9 points per game.

Brantley assumes the leads for the most effective defense by allowing a state low 4.1 points per game. Linden, Muscle Shoals, Benjamin Russell, Wenonah, Leeds and Monroe Academy in the AISA are close behind with averages under six point per game. Twenty-two teams are allowing less than 10 points a game. On the other end the Carbon Hill defense has been less than stellar by giving up points at the outrageous rate of 52.1 per game.

Brantley once again leads in point differential average by defeating all six opponents by an average of 48.4 points. Tanner and Cedar Bluff are not close by still have averages over forty points per game.

This is the first time since we have been doing the weekly tidbits that the same team, Brantley, has led in each category.
