There are 33 teams averaging over 40 points a game. Brantley leads the pack
by averaging 52.8 points per game followed closely by
Marion County at 52.2. Tanner is the
only other team to average over fifty points a game thus far through the 2012
season. Once again Southeastern has the least effective offense and averages
only 1.6 points per game.
Brantley also remains with the most effective defense by allowing a state low
3.7 points per game. Linden, Leeds and Central Clay County are close behind with
averages under six point per game. Twenty teams are
allowing less than 10 points a game. On the other end the
Victory Christian
defense has been less than stellar by giving up points at the outrageous rate of 53.7 per
game.
Brantley once again leads in point differential average by defeating all six opponents
by an average of 49.1 points. Tanner and Marion County are not close by still
have averages over forty points per game.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History
Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
