AHSFHS.org Report
(Sept. 8, 2012)

Week 2

The 2012 season is in full swing with most teams beginning region play this weekend. Here are a few tidbits from this past weekend's action.

   *  What do Leroy, Briarwood Christian and Prattville all have in common? Well, they have each won multiple state championships in the past few years and they have all begun the 2012 season with 0-2 starts. Along those lines, North Jackson had never began a season by dropping their first two games until this year. Trinity last lost their first two games in 1981.

   *  Dadeville and Tanner currently hold on to the top spot with a streak of twenty-one consecutive games won on their home turf. Maplesville and Thomasville are right behind with streaks of twenty.

   *  Dadeville and Tanner share the lead with twenty-eight game regular season winning streaks. Maplesville deserves recognition with a streak of twenty-six wins during the regular season.

   *  Jackson and Hartselle share a streak of seventeen consecutive wins to lead all Alabama high school football teams.

   *  Central Hayneville continues to top our list with forty-three consecutive losses.

   *   Cold Springs has lost thirty-three straight region games.

   *   The T.R. Miller Tigers have scored in 319 consecutive games.

   *  Crenshaw Christian holds the state lead with 42 consecutive region wins. Deshler has a 27 game region winning streak followed closely by Bibb County with a 26 game streak.
