Week 7

Just three more weeks of football action prior to the playoffs for many teams. Most region championship races are beginning to take shape in each classification. Here are some interesting facts from this week's games.

  
   *   Dadeville with 24 and Tanner with 23 currently hold on to the top spots for consecutive games won on their home turf. Both teams won games on the road this past Friday Night. Dadeville defeated Beulah 33-6 while Tanner took care of business at Sheffield 46-20.

   *   Dadeville and Tanner also continue to share the lead with thirty-three game regular season game winning streaks.

   *   Jackson beat Saraland 42-14 to increase their winning streak to a state leading twenty-two games in a row.

   *   Central Hayneville continues to top our list with forty-seven consecutive losses after a 14-42 loss to Goshen.

   *   Central Hayneville also has a streak of thirty-five consecutive region losses dating back to 2007.

   *   Undefeated T.R. Miller Tigers defeated Southside Selma 48-14 and have scored in 324 consecutive games.

   *   Elba lost to Luverne 26-21 to end their streak of twenty-seven consecutive region wins. Tanner takes over the lead with a streak of twenty-five consecutive region wins. Monroe Academy has won twenty-eight in a row in AISA. Other notables in AHSAA include.... Dadeville (23), Maplesville (22) and Piedmont (22).

   *   Keith started the 2012 season with seven consecutive wins which is a first in the history of the school.

* Hanceville set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Winston County 61-14.
* Charles Henderson set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Headland 73-6.
* Douglas set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Locust Fork 58-34.
* J.O. Johnson set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Butler 62-0.
* Moody set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Springville 63-35.
* Russell County set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Marbury 63-43.


Points allowed in a game

* Eastwood Christian set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Sparta Academy 6-40.
* Springville set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Moody 35-63.


Margin of Victory game

* Charles Henderson set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Headland 73-6.
* J.O. Johnson set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Butler 62-0.
* Sipsey Valley set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Greene County 40-16.


Margin of Defeat game

* Columbia set a team record for margin of defeat in a game by losing to Fort Payne 0-57.
* Butler set a team record for margin of defeat in a game by losing to J.O. Johnson 0-62.




Points Scored by Both Teams in a Game

* Lee Montgomery set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Carver Montgomery 21-67.
* East Memorial Christian set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Crenshaw Christian 14-37.
* Eastwood Christian set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Sparta Academy 6-40.
* Fultondale set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by defeating Vincent 59-36.
* Marbury set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Russell County 43-63.
* Springville set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Moody 35-63.
* Walter Wellborn set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Woodland 42-55.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
