Five games into the 2013 season saw most teams playing a variety of non-region games with some interesting results. Here are a few tidbits from the fifth week of high school football action.
* Hoover beat rival Vestavia Hills 17-7 on Friday
to continue their winning streak. The Bucs lead the
AHSAA schools with a twenty game unbeaten streak. Edgewood Academy leads the AISA schools with a 37 game winning
streak after a hard fought 24-21 win over Autauga Academy on Friday.
Did you know? * Muscle Shoals outscored their first five opponents by a combined score of 226-7 by beating Rogers 56-0, Russellville 41-0, Lawrence County 49-0, Athens 35-0 and Dora 45-7. The defense allowed their only TD of the season with just over two minutes remaining in the game on a 57 yard pass play.
