Week 2

The 2015 season is well underway. Here are a few tidbits from week two's action.

   *  Clay-Chalkville, a 49-15 winner over Minor and  St. Paul's with a 51-28 victory over St. Stanislaus MS extended their winning streaks to seventeen games which lead the AHSAA schools. Edgewood Academy leads the AISA school with a 60 game winning streak.

   *   Holly Pond and Holy Spirit have both lost twenty-one consecutive football games. The streaks are not close to the longest in state history behind R.C. Hatch at 68 losses in a row.

   *   Bullock County has also lost 39 consecutive region games in a row.

   *  The Maplesville Red Devils have won 26 straight regular season games with a 41-27 win over Billingsley. They are well short of the 56 game mark set by Prattville a few seasons back. Edgewood Academy has won 45 consecutive regular season games in the AISA.

   *   The new consecutive game scoring leader, the Hoover Bucs extended their streak to 318 games dating to 9/27/1991. The last time Hoover was shutout came against Hewitt-Trussville by a score of 13-0 some 24 years ago. The Bucs defeated Manatee FL 42-21 on Friday.

   *   The Davidson Warriors have won 18 season openers in a row since opening the 1997 season with a loss to Daphne. They opened the 2015 season with a hard fought 38-36 victory over Mary Montgomery.

   *   Gene Allen, the head coach at Pike Liberal Arts got his 100th win Friday night with a 33-10 victory over Hooper Academy. Tim Carter and Allen Creasy will have to wait another week following losses.
