Active Coaches with the Most Wins
The 2020 offseason saw many coaching changes that will affect schools for year to come. The all-time leader in victories, Buddy Anderso0n at Vestavia Hills retired after 43 seasons on the sidelines and 346 wins. Lamar Harris also spent the last 43 years as the head football coach at Hubbertville and racked up 254 victories along the way. Other coaches moved on to a different school hoping to ignite a new program. Keith Etheredge takes his talents from Oxford to 7A Auburn. Josh Wright (131 wins) moves from Bessemer Academy to Tuscaloosa Academy. Jamie Riggs hangs up the cleats after a 33 year career and 315 victories. Don Jacobs also retires after 14 seasons as a head coach and 107 wins. And Jack Hankins Jr. steps aside after 19 seasons at Thomasville and 169 victories under his belt. That leaves us with the list below as we enter the 2021 season soon. Terry Curtis with 317 wins leads the way as three other coaches with at least 300 victories follow. |
