Arlton Hudson, a native of Evergreen and a graduate of Evergreen High School received his degree from Auburn University.

His first head coaching position came in 1989 at Southside High School in Selma. He led the Panthers to a 19-13 record in three seasons and a couple of playoff appearances. In 1993 he moved to Florala for the next seven seasons.

At Florala his last Wildcat team, in 1998, finished the season with an 11-1 record after a perfect 10-0 regular season. He left Florala for Hillcrest High School in Evergreen in the fall of 1999 where he remained for another seven seasons.

He returned to Florala for two years and a 14-9 slate with two more playoff teams. In 2008, Coach Hudson retired from public education in Alabama after 28 years of service as an assistant and head coach.

Coach Hudson landed at Gautier High School in Mississippi for the 2008 season. His teams went 19-25 in four seasons with the Gators, including playoff berths in 2008 and 2009. But Gautier went just 7-15 and failed to make the playoffs the last two seasons, including a 2-9 mark in 2011.

In 2012 he returned to his native Alabama and accepted the head coaching position at Coosa Valley Academy in Harpersville where he remained through the 2013 season. He also served as the athletic director.

Hudson returned to the coaching ranks in 2019 as the head football coach at Sparta Academy.
