Round one

Results from the first round of the playoffs and second round matchups.

   *  According to AHSFHS.org records Elba won their 500th game on Friday night. Scores from some of the early games are missing so their record is not complete at this time.  

   *  Handley won at home so their streak goes to thirty-two home wins in a row.

   *  The T.R. Miller Tigers have scored in 316 consecutive games.

   *  Saraland and Sumter Central played in their first playoff games on Friday and both teams lost.

   *  Pleasant Home, Barbour County and Northridge enter new territory as they all play second round games for the first time in their team's history.


Team First Round Notes

   *   T.R. Miller improved to 29-3 in first round games. The Tigers are one win behind Colbert County in first round games
   *   The T.R. Miller Tigers are also 81-25 in all playoff games second only to Hazlewood at 85-21.
   *   Escambia Academy beat Springwood 62-42 and set a couple of records along the way. It is the most points ever scored by both teams in an AISA playoff game and the second most points scored by a team.


Team Second Round Notes

   *   Hoover is 17-1 in second round games and 9-1 on the road in second round games. The Bucs will be traveling to Bob Jones on Friday.
   *   Vincent faces a very good Elba team and are 0-4 all time in second round games.
   *   Although Homewood did not qualify for the playoffs they are 15-0 all time in second round games.
   *   Colbert County leads with 21 second round game wins.
   *   Berry Fayette, Fultondale, Elkmont, Beauregard and Pinson Valley have never won second round playoff games.
   *   West Limestone last played in a second round game in 1988.
   *   Walter Wellborn last played in a second round game in 1995.
   *   Center Point last played in a second round game in 1997 when the school was known as Erwin.
