Week 9

Just two more weeks of football action prior to the playoffs for many teams. Most region championship races are beginning to take shape in each classification. Here are some interesting facts from this week's games.

   *   Dadeville with 25 and Tanner with 24 currently hold on to the top spots for consecutive games won on their home turf. Tanner thrashed Phil Campbell on the road while Dadeville lost to new rival Central Clay County 33-0 on Friday. The loss by Dadeville was on the road so it will not effect their streak.

   *   Tanner takes over sole possession of first place with a thirty-five game regular season winning streak following the loss by Dadeville.

   *   Jackson beat Demopolis 34-7 to increase their winning streak to a state leading twenty-four games in a row.

   *   Central Hayneville continues to top our list with forty-nine consecutive losses after a 14-0 loss to Calhoun.

   *   Central Hayneville also has a streak of thirty-seven consecutive region losses dating back to 2007.

   *   T.R. Miller Tigers fell to arch-rival W.S. Neal in the "Battle of Murder Creek" 34-26 and have scored in 326 consecutive games.

   *   Tanner also holds the state lead with a streak of twenty-seven consecutive region wins. Monroe Academy has won twenty-nine in a row in AISA. Other notables in AHSAA include.... Maplesville (24) and Piedmont (24).

   *   Muscle Shoals has started the 2012 season with nine consecutive wins which is a first in the history of the school.
