Top Ten This Week

A few good matchups appear in this week's schedule among the top ten teams. In Class 1A, number one Marion County travels to Berry to take on the eighth ranked Wildcats. Another good game will be Addison at Ragland.

In Class 2A, number ten Lamar County will host the third place team from Oakman in a matchup of ranked teams. Tanner will try to rebound from a rare loss when they travel to Red Bay on Friday. The top ranked Washington County Bulldogs have never been ranked number one according to our records.

In 3A, up-and-coming W.S Neal will play host to a Straughn team that lost last week and the T.R. Miller vs. Opp game promises to be a good one.

The last time Calera was number one in any poll was the second week of the 1982 season when the started the season 2-0. This week the Eagles take on number 8 Dora in the best game in Class 3A. Number 2 Charles Henderson will host the seventh ranked Hornets of Beauregard.

Class 5A has Muscle Shoals at Russellville as the key matchup this week. The last time Russellville started a season 0-2 was 1997. In 6A, the Mountain Brook vs. Shades Valley game will let us know if the Spartans can rebound and if the Mounties are for real.
