Week 4

Four games into the 2013 season and the region races are beginning to take shape. Here are a few tidbits from the fourth week of high school football action.

   *  Hoover continued their winning ways with a 56-14 pounding of Northridge. The Bucs lead the AHSAA schools with a nineteen game winning streak. Edgewood Academy leads the AISA schools with a 36 game winning streak after defeating Glenwood 47-14 on Friday.

   *   The Central Hayneville Lions have lost 55 consecutive games following their 54-22 loss to Luverne. Central has also lost 40 consecutive region games in a row.

   *  Piedmont extends their regular season winning streak to 27 games following a 55-7 victory over Cleveland. They are joined by Edgewood Academy with a streak of 27 games in the AISA.

   *  Tanner continues to roll with a 35-14 win over Lexington and maintains their streak of 31 consecutive region wins. In the AISA, Monroe Academy continues a streak of 29 games.

   *  Maplesville leads for most consecutive home wins in a row with a streak of 29 games. Dadeville (28), Hoover (28) and Tanner (27) are close behind.

   *  T.R. Miller Tigers continued their string of 333 games without being shutout.

   *   Edgewood Academy has scored at least 30 points in a game for an amazing 31 games in a row. That is an all-time state record. The longest streak in the AHSAA is held by Sweet Water between 2007-08 with a streak of 22 games.

   *  Muscle Shoals outscored their first four opponents by a combined score of 181-0 by beating Rogers 56-0, Russellville 41-0, Lawrence County 49-0 and Athens 35-0.

* Pope John Paul II set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Butler 35-14.
* James Clemens set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Buckhorn 35-43.

* Northridge set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Hoover 14-56.
* Ashville set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Saks 20-63.


Margin of Victory game

* Spanish Fort set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Faith Academy 54-0.


Margin of Defeat game

* Davidson set a team record for margin of defeat in a game by losing to McGill-Toolen 3-56.


Points Scored by Both Teams in a Game

* Fort Dale Academy set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by defeating Autauga Academy 55-54.
* James Clemens set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Buckhorn 35-43.
* Montgomery Academy set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Lanett 25-59.
* Oak Mountain set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Pelham 41-42.
* Autauga Academy set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Fort Dale Academy 54-55.
