Most playoff pairings are set as the regular season winds down. Here are a few tidbits from the tenth week of action.

  *    Kevin Rose head football coach at Bob Jones won his 100th game when the Patriots defeated Austin 62-45 on Friday night. His overall record at Bob Jones and Sheffield stands at 100-49 in 13 seasons.

  *    Clay-Chalkville defeated Hewitt-Trussville 59-28. The Cougars have a string of games where they have scored at least 20 points that has reached 57 straight. They have surpassed the former state record held by Hoover.

  *   Edgewood Academy added to their impressive streak. They have scored more than 20 points in 54 consecutive games following a 49-0 victory over Fort Dale Academy.

  *   Fifteen teams are tied for the state lead with ten game winning streaks.

  *   Edgewood Academy leads the AISA school with a 55 game winning streak.

  *   Butler suffered another loss. The Rebels have now lost 39 consecutive games after falling to J.O. Johnson 49-14. The streak is not close to the longest in state history behind R.C. Hatch at 68 losses in a row.

  *   Bullock County has also lost 39 consecutive region games.

  *   Maplesville rolled past Sweet Water 42-14 and extended their regular season winning streak of 24 games. Edgewood Academy leads the AISA with a string of 42 straight regular season victories.

  *   Tanner has a string of 42 consecutive games in which they have come out a winner in region play. 

  *   Maplesville has also won 40 consecutive home games. Edgewood Academy leads the AISA with a string of 29 straight home wins.

  *   Trinity, following a slow start has rebounded to finish the regular season with a 5-5 record and will need to win a first round game to extend their streak of 32 straight winning seasons. The Wildcats last suffered through a losing season way back in 1981 when they finished with a 4-6 record. After starting the season 1-5, they are making a valiant effort to continue the streak.

  *   The T.R. Miller Tigers have an amazing streak of 352 games without being shutout after taking the week off.
