Nine players from
Alabama were chosen in the recent NFL draft. While that is not the most ever
selected in a single year, the three first round selection ties a record.

The most players selected in any NFL draft from the state belongs to 1991 when a total of thirteen players who attended high school in Alabama were chosen. Those players include:
Twelve Alabama players were selected in 1986, 2000, 2005 and 2009. The three first round picks in 2017 ties the record for most in the opening round. The other years with three selections were; 1974 (Bo Matthews, Don Reese and Wilbur Jackson), 1986 (Bo Jackson, Gerald Robinson and Jon Hand), 2007 (JaMarcus Russell, Amobi Okoye and Ben Grubbs) and 2012 (Dre Kirkpatrick, Mark Barron and Courtney Upshaw).
Georgia had the most players drafted with 29, followed by Florida with 27.
O.J. Howard is not only the first player drafted in the first round who played football in the AISA, he is the first player ever drafted from the AISA. A couple of other players from the AISA played in the NFL but none were drafted.
Vigor leads all team with the most players drafted with thirteen. Woodlawn and Sidney Lanier have each had eight players drafted since the initial NFL draft in 1936.
