2017 ASWA Poll 




The Alabama Sports Writers Association have released their rankings for this week.

Week 9 -- Oct. 26, 2017
In Class 5A, Wenonah comes in as the fourth ranked team this week. It their highest ranking since the 1995 season. Wilson, the #4 team in 4A, is the highest the school has been since the 1998 football season.

St. Lukes is ranked the highest the team has ever been as the #5 team in 2A while Sulligent as the #6 team is the highest they have been since 1990. Another 2A team, Goshen, is the highest they have been since 1969.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Morris Higginbotham coached three different teams to divisional state championships in the 1950s. He won titles at Walnut Grove in 1952, West Blocton in 1955 and Enterprise in 1960.
