Week 11


The playoffs begin next week. Here are a few tidbits from this week's action.

   *   Look for another special edition of Tidbits tomorrow as we look at wrapping up the regular season and jumping into the playoffs. Also look for previews of every playoff game.

   *   Maplesville has the state's longest winning streak at 32 games following another victory. The Red Devils defeated American Christian 28-0.

   *   Barbour County lost to Bullock County by a score of 54-6 and still has the state's longest losing streak at forty-one games.

   *   Bullock County closed out their 2017 region play and has lost 58 consecutive region games.

   *   Fyffe extended their 28 game regular season winning streak with a 49-7 victory over Cleburne County.

   *   The state's longest region winning streak also belongs to Maplesville who has a string of 52 straight region victories.

   *   Piedmont has the state's longest home winning streak at twenty-five games after a road victory over Oneonta. Monroe Academy (33) lead the AISA schools.

   *   Maplesville (28) and Fyffe (27) lead all the others in consecutive road victories following their latest wins.

   *   Maplesville has scored twenty or more points in 47 consecutive games.

   *   Fyffe hopes to avoid the dreaded shutout and extend their streak of consecutive games scoring. They are currently sitting on a string of 231 games without being shutout.

   *   Hoover has been ranked by the ASWA for an amazing 196 consecutive polls dating back to the 2000 season. The Bucs are the #2 team in Class 7A.

   *   Foley was shutout 27-0 by Theodore this week. It was the Lions first shutout loss in 149 games dating back to the 2005 season.

 * St. Lukes set a team record in a win 62-35 over Cottage Hill Christian breaking the previous record set in a victory over Luverne 57-12 on 9/8/2017.

 * Westminster Christian set a team record in a win 70-6 over Priceville breaking the previous record set in a victory over Hayden 66-36 on 9/29/2017.

 * Horseshoe Bend set a team record in a 62-6 loss to Wadley tying the previous record set in a loss to Highland Home 62-21 on 10/14/2005.

 * Prattville Christian set a team record in a 69-41 loss to Highland Home breaking the previous record set in a loss to Meadowview Christian 63-40 on 10/3/2008.

 * Decatur Heritage Christian set a team record by defeating Tharptown 55-0 breaking the previous record set when they defeated Waterloo 55-6 on 9/12/2014.

 * Southeastern set a team record by defeating Asbury 48-12 breaking the previous record set when they defeated Asbury 39-7 on 10/28/2016.

 * Southside Gadsden set a team record by defeating Glencoe 56-0 breaking the previous record set when they defeated Brewer 62-14 on 9/18/2015.

 * Westminster Christian set a team record by defeating Priceville 70-6 breaking the previous record set when they defeated St. Bernard 59-0 on 8/29/2008.

 * Cornerstone Christian set a team record in a loss 55-0 to Escambia Academy breaking the previous record set when they lost to Shelby Academy 53-0 on 10/21/2005.

 * Woodlawn set a team record in a loss 69-0 to Parker breaking the previous record set when they lost to Clay-Chalkville 72-6 on 10/16/2015.

 * Francis Marion set a team record in a 64-56 victory over Hale County breaking the previous record set in a loss to Tuscaloosa 98-0 on 10/2/1925.
