Week 12

The playoffs are underway. Here are a few tidbits from this week's action.

   *   Maplesville has the state's longest winning streak at 33 games following another victory. The Red Devils defeated Linden 49-28 in the first round of the playoffs.

   *   Barbour County still has the state's longest losing streak at forty-one games.

   *   Bullock County closed out their 2017 region play and has lost 58 consecutive region games.

   *   Fyffe will try to extended their 28 game regular season winning streak but will need to wait until next season.

   *   The state's longest region winning streak also belongs to Maplesville who has a string of 52 straight region victories.

   *   Piedmont has the state's longest home winning streak at twenty-six games after a first round 26-6 win over Geraldine. Monroe Academy (34) lead the AISA schools.

   *   Maplesville (28) and Fyffe (27) lead all the others in consecutive road victories following their latest wins.

   *   Maplesville has scored twenty or more points in 48 consecutive games.

   *   Fyffe hopes to avoid the dreaded shutout and extend their streak of consecutive games scoring. They are currently sitting on a string of 232 games without being shutout.

   *   All four teams from Class 4A region 5 and Class 2A region 7 advanced to the second round of the post season.

   *   Hoover/Berry is 23-1 in the second round of the playoffs. Maplesville is 23-4 along with UMS-Wright at 20-5.

   *   Jacksonville, Mae Jemison, Pinson Valley, Spring Garden, St. Luke's and Thorsby have never won a second round playoff game in their school's history Others with long second round victory droughts include: Abbeville (1971), Wilson (1984), Montgomery Catholic (1989), Thompson (1987) and Goshen (1991).

   *   Fyffe won the 500th game in the history of the school. They have a record of 500-295-13 since first fielding a football team back in 1933 according to our records.

* Crossville set a team record in a loss 62-0 to Briarwood breaking the previous record set when they lost to Albertville 57-0 on .

* Prattville Christian set a team record in a loss 61-0 to Hillcrest Evergreen breaking the previous record set when they lost to Montgomery Academy 57-3 on 10/23/2015.

* Maplesville has won a team record 33 consecutive games since 10/2/2015.
* Fyffe has won a team record 26 consecutive games since 8/26/2016.
* Autauga Academy has won a team record 25 consecutive games since 8/26/2016.
* Hewitt-Trussville has won a team record 11 consecutive games since 9/1/2017.
* Pinson Valley has won a team record 11 consecutive games since 8/25/2017.
* Fultondale has won a team record 11 consecutive games since 9/1/2017.

* Alabama Christian set a team record with a 9-2 record. That ties the previous mark of 9-3-0 in 1990.

* Chambers Academy set a team record with a 12-0 record. That ties the previous mark of 12-1-0 in 2016.

* Colbert Heights set a team record with a 10-1 record. That ties the previous mark of 10-2-0 in 2007.

* Escambia Academy set a team record with a 11-1 record. That ties the previous mark of 11-1-0 in 2014.

* Fultondale set a team record with a 11-0 record. That tops the previous mark of 10-2-0 in 2013.

* Hillcrest Evergreen set a team record with a 10-1 record. That tops the previous mark of 9-3-0 in 2000.

* Mae Jemison set a team record with a 10-1 record. That tops the previous mark of 6-5-0 in 2016.

* Mars Hill set a team record with a 7-4 record. That tops the previous mark of 2-8-0 in 2015.

* Northside set a team record with a 9-2 record. That tops the previous mark of 8-3-0 in 2014.

* Paul Bryant set a team record with a 6-5 record. That ties the previous mark of 6-4-0 in 2015.

* Pinson Valley set a team record with a 11-0 record. That tops the previous mark of 9-3-0 in 2011.

* Southeastern set a team record with a 2-8 record. That ties the previous mark of 2-8-0 in 2016.

* St. Luke's set a team record with a 9-1 record. That ties the previous mark of 9-3-0 in 2012.

* Thorsby set a team record with a 8-2 record. That ties the previous mark of 8-3-0 in 2010.

* Alabama Christian set a team record by scoring 375 points. That tops the previous mark of 335 points set in 2009.

* Austin set a team record by scoring 499 points. That tops the previous mark of 470 points set in 2015.

* Central Hayneville set a team record by scoring 288 points. That tops the previous mark of 262 points set in 2004.

* Escambia Academy set a team record by scoring 490 points. That tops the previous mark of 484 points set in 1971.

* Jacksonville set a team record by scoring 374 points. That tops the previous mark of 372 points set in 2013.

* Kinston set a team record by scoring 340 points. That tops the previous mark of 314 points set in 2001.

* Mae Jemison set a team record by scoring 403 points. That tops the previous mark of 342 points set in 2016.
