2018 Playoffs

The four seeds did well in the first round of the playoff this year winning a total of eight games last week. That ties for the third most ever only

Since the playoffs went to their current format in 2000, the four seeds are 117-811 in first round games. So Number One seeds win 87% of the their first round games.
Only one team has lost four times while being a Number One seed to a fourth seed. That would be Fort Payne in 2009, 2012, 2015 and 2018. Hanceville has done it three times.
No fourth seed has ever reached the championship game. Several have reached the semi-finals including Auburn (2001), Hillcrest Evergreen (2015), Hokes Bluff (2016), J.O. Johnson (2006), Luverne (2009) and Straughn (2012). Eighteen teams have won first round games from the fourth seed twice. No team has accomplished the feat three times.
Could this be the year a fourth seed reaches the Super Seven or even wins a championship?
